Join our teams for 2006/2007!

The Calalta Figure Skating Club is the largest FSC in Calgary, and the Calalta Synchro teams are among the best in Canada! For 25 years, Calalta has been producing medalist teams at the local, provincial, regional, and national levels. Come be a part of our success!

Our Adult and Junior Festival teams are currently seeking skaters for the 2006/2007 season. We welcome new skaters to attend our first practices in September:

Ice Rhapsody Junior
Sunday, September 10 - 7:30-9:30 PM, Jimmie Condon Arena
Monday, September 11 - 6:45-7:45 PM, Norma Bush Arena

Junior has no age limit, but the average age of Ice Rhapsody is typically early to mid-20's.

Ice Symphony Adult
Monday, September 11 - 8:00-9:45 PM, Norma Bush Arena

Adult skaters must be at least 18 years of age as of July 1st, 2006, and 75% of the team must be at least 25 years of age as of July 1st, 2006.

Applicants for both teams should be comfortable with a variety of one-foot turns, forwards and backwards, at speed. Strong field moves are an asset.

Regular practices begin in September, and finish at the end of February. The teams typically attend four or five competitions from January to March. We offer a variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the season, and ask that each skater take part in one volunteer activity to help keep our club running smoothly!
