Our January 26 media event was a success! Here's where Westerns has already been featured, and
where you can expect to see more video clips, photos, interviews, and promotional spots over the next week and a half:
Television:
Global Morning Edition - January 26, 2005 - Ice Symphony and Westerns
Co-Chair Judy Lang were featured in three two-minute segments on the Global Morning Edition. Judy, coach Sandi Thiessen,
and captain Jennifer Anton were interviewed while skaters performed off-ice and stretching routines in the background.
The broadcast also included video of Ice Symphony performing this year's program to a "Prince" medley, in full
competition dress. A-Channel News - January 26, 2005 - A-Channel featured
video of Ice Symphony while giving viewers the Westerns basics. Shaw Cable - Shaw also attended the media event, taking the opportunity
to video Ice Symphony
and conduct a few interviews that will be compiled in to a three to five minute segment slotted to run a few
times leading up to Westerns.
In Print:
The Calgary Herald - This week's Neighbours section will feature an article including
interviews with Ice Rhapsody skaters. The Sports section will also include an article mid-week containing
interviews conducted on Wednesday, along with a photograph of one of the teams. The Calgary Sun - You will see just over $10,000 of sponsored advertising commencing
January 27, with 5 full colour ad insertions running up until the event. Public Service Announcements - All the news-outlets have a public service
announcement that they will
be running between now and Westerns on their respective lists of
community events.
