Teams
Calalta first formed a team at the Competitive Adult level in the early Nineties. Competing under different names for a
few years, the team became Ice Symphony at the start of the 1998-1999 season. The team remained in the Competitive stream
for two years
before switching to Festival in the fall of 2002.
With a number of Invitational, Provincial, and Western Regional medals to their credit,
Ice Symphony has been a top contender in Western Canada as both
a Competitive and Festival Adult team in the past decade. Ice Symphony has also been one of the Canada's top Festival
teams in recent years,
earning National medals in 2003 and 2004, and boasting a top 10 finish at Nationals in 2005.
As some skaters moved on and coaching changes took place, the team took a hiatus from National competition in
2006 and 2007. With the experience gained from competing under the CPC judging system last season,
coach Leslie Wolfenberg is ready to lead a motivated group of skaters back on to the National scene in 2008.
The skaters on Ice Symphony come from a wide variety of backgrounds ranging from
students, to medical professionals, to moms, and the team typically ranges in age from approximately twenty years old to
over forty. Team members' skating backgrounds are also varied: over the years the team has included competitive singles
skaters, former National Synchro Team members, and skaters whose experience is primarily recreational. We
want you to be part of this dynamic, diverse, talented team! Contact
